Fibre is coming to a home near you
“Residents will be notified as soon as the network is live and ready for connection,” says Taylor Smith, from the marketing department.
You might have seen the pink nets outside houses in Selection Park and Selcourt and men digging trenches, and wondered what it was all about.
Well, wonder no more as fibre will soon be available in Springs.
The company responsible is Vumatel, and say they are expanding their footprint in Ekurhuleni and has, to date, connected over 70 000 homes in the area.
“Once Vumatel had connected Brakpan, it became possible to extend the network to Springs.
“The community has expressed an interest in the fibre roll-out and the ward councillor was also in agreement with the benefits fibre will have to the residents of Springs once the project is complete.
“They are currently rolling out its network in Selection Park, Edelweiss, Strubenvale and Casseldale.
“Residents will be notified as soon as the network is live and ready for connection,” says Taylor Smith, from the company’s marketing department.
Those interested are already able to place pre-orders via www.vumatel.co.za or with their chosen internet service provider (ISP) but they are advised that customers do not to cancel their current ADSL or LTE services until they have received confirmation that their area is live.
