Vlei Road left in the dark

Lights in Vlei Road in Grootvaly, Strubenvale, are out of order and much of the street is left in darkness at night.

Resident Vick Maurizi says he feels unsafe at night if the streetlights aren’t working.

In addition, Maurizi says 13 of his sheep have gone missing as a result of this and he is frustrated.

Buses regularly commute through this street and a darkened street makes it very dangerous for them to drive during the night time, says Maurizi.

Maurizi has asked the municipality many times to fix the issue, but he has not received any answers from them thus far.

The metro has failed to respond to any of our inquiries.
