Millbrex residents unsatisfied with metro’s answers
"Contractors where sent out, but were unable to fix the problem."
Residents at Millbrex flats were without power on June 27 and 28.
When resident Dean Thomas phoned the metro, they said the landlord had not payed the electricity bill and subsequently cut the power to every unit.
Thomas says: “That is nonsense.
“We all have prepaid electricity and everybody pays up front.
“Contractors where sent out, but were unable to fix the problem.
“There are 13 units here of mainly pensioners and, with the cold temperatures we’ve been having, it’s not very good for them to be left in the cold,” says Thomas.

Thomas went on to say when the power finally came back on, the council gavethem the excuse that they had received the wrong address, which is nonsense.
“The bottom line is that everyone here pays for electricity and the fact that they had to go for two days without power is unacceptable,” says Thomas.
The metro has failed to respond to our inquiries.
