Spring has sprung and swimming costumes are being retrieved from storage in anticipation of the coming warm weather.
However, those who were hoping to frequent the Olymia Park swimming pool, which has been closed since 2015, this year will have to go another summer without this facility.
The metro lists this as one of the pools still in need of rehabilitation due to the age of the pool.
In February 2015, metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe said the pool would be fixed within a year, but has yet to receive the necessary attention.

The metro announced on Sunday that many of the public pools in Ekurhuleni are now open and ready to welcome patrons for the swimming season.
Of the 36 pools in the metro, seven will not be open for the foreseeable future.
The list of closed pools includes Olympia Park and Nigel, while KwaThema, Selection Park, Geluksdal and Faranani pools are now open.
The pool in Duduza is still under construction.
With many complaining last year about the pools being closed over the festive season, the metro has announced that designated pools will remain open through the holidays this year.

The only exceptions are Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, when all pools will be closed.
The list of designated pools has yet to be announced.
Ekurhuleni has three types of pool categories with different facilities.
Category A boast indoor heated swimming pool and are arenas for competitive swimming competitions while category B pools are mainly outdoor pools with grand stands and category C pools are standard with basic amenities.
The entrance fees for each are:
• Category A – R15 pp
• Category B – R10 pp
• Category C – R5 pp
