There is a large illegal dumping site on Granby Road in Selcourt.
Resident Hazel Kruger lives in a house opposite the site, and she is frustrated with the metro’s failure to address the problem, despite her numerous requests to have the problem addressed.
The dumping site is littered with plastic, refuse, tree branches and various household items that have collected over the years.

“There is a strong wind that sometimes blows through here and it blows the rubbish right into the house.
“It really is about time someone does something about this,” says Kruger.
Deceased resident and widower of Hazel, Johan Kruger, made an initial inquiry to the metro, asking that they clean up, but nothing has been done since.
Hazel Kruger feels that the dumping site is an eyesore, an environmental hazard. She also feels that it is unacceptable that the metro have failed to do respond despite being made aware of the problem more than 10 years ago.
