The learners are each sponsored by Rotary clubs to attend and for this camp 15 Rotary clubs sponsored these learners to attend.

The RYLA programme provides an opportunity for young people to develop their leadership skills through a combination of indoor and outdoor activities which teach clear communication, clear instruction, best utilisation of team member skills and trust between team members.

The course material covers subjects like etiquette, communication, integrity and leadership, mind mapping, prioritising, self-worth, the meaning of success, prejudice and misconceptions, teamwork, planning and community development.
