Cellphones worth R120 000 stolen during hijacking

Suspects were driving a white Nissan Np 200, registration number HR73NZGP, which later turned out belonged to another vehicle.

A driver was hijacked by two suspects while making a delivery in Daggafontein last Tuesday morning, says Springs Police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora.

The victim had just parked on Fulmar Street when he was suddenly confronted by two suspects, one of whom was armed and demanded his car keys.

After the victim had handed over his keys, the suspects drove off in his car, which was later abandoned in Vogelstruisbult.

The suspects fled with a bag of cellphones worth approximately R120 000.

The suspects were driving a white Nissan NP200, registration number HR 73 NZ GP, which later turned out to belong to another vehicle.

The recovered vehicle was towed to Van Ryn Deep.
