Devotees celebrate Festival of Lights by giving to others

The collection started at 10am on Sunday and ended at 4pm.

The Bhairavi Sungum of Springs celebrated Diwali (otherwise known as the Festival of Lights) by collecting trays of eats and sweetmeats for the children of Chance Children’s Home.

The devotees donated generously.

“Diwali is a time for families to get together and to give to the less fortunate.

“We’ve been doing this for over 10 years and it’s something we really enjoy doing.

“Last year, the children at Chance Children’s Home were so happy to have us with them, that we decided to go back there again this year,” says Poovershre Pillay, chairperson of the Bhairavi Sungum of Springs.
