Business owner forced to hand over goods

The complainant gave him the bag as he did not know if the suspect was concealing any weapons.

A business owner was robbed as he was closing shop last Monday afternoon in Second Street.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the complainant was standing behind the counter when a man entered the business and demanded the sling bag the complainant had on his person.

The complainant gave him the bag as he did not know if the suspect was concealing any weapons.

The suspect fled the same way he came in.

The suspect took the complainant’s cellphone (valued at R6 000), another cellphone (valued at R17 000) and his wallet with his bank card, ID and driver’s licence.
