Metro allegedly ignores broken pipe

Speaking to The Addie, the residents say they suspect the pipe first started leaking in December while they were closed for the festive season.

Residents and businesses on Reitz Avenue says the metro has ignored their complaints about a broken pipe.

“When we got back in January, we noticed the leak and called the metro.

“They arrived after two days and dug up where it was leaking and then left.

“After a few days, we called them again and nothing has been done since.

“This country has no water, and it is shocking that nothing has been done about it,” says Brandon Celliers who works in a nearby business.

Most concerning to Celliers is that is appears to be fresh waster that is leaking, and not sewage.

The metro failed to respond in time for publication.
