Man assaulted with knobkerrie during house robbery

A man was assaulted with a knobkerrie during a house robbery in Geduld on Wednesday morning.

Springs Police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the victim was sleeping when he was awakened by sounds coming from his lounge.

When he went to investigate what was was happening, he found three suspects in the lounge.

One of the suspects was armed with a knobkerrie, while the other suspect was carrying his plasma TV.

When the victim tried to stop the suspects, he was assaulted with the knobkerrie.

The suspects fled on foot with the TV.

The value of the stolen item was R2 000.
