Tsakani Police Station is reopened after decontamination
Tsakani Police Station has been closed following the confirmation of a Covid-19 case among the staff.
On Wednesday, the Tsakani Police Station remained temporarily closed for a second day.
According to Colonel Noxolo Kweza of the Gauteng SAPS, an in-depth process of decontamination will be done.

“Decontamination takes 12 hours or more.
“Even after the denomination is complete, the chemicals are left to work.”
Upon visiting the premises, police officers could be seen working outside the building, especially the parking lot, to serve the public.
Kweza could not confirm the number of cases at the station.
“The building should be reopened in the next day or so,” she concludes.
“We plead with those staff members who show symptoms to stay in isolation until they know for sure that they are negative for Covid-19 because we don’t know how many others may be infected.
“Officers should be given protective gear as they interact with the people in the community.
“They are putting their lives in danger every time they go out to serve the community.”

“More than anything, justice should not be denied in a time when we need it most.”
Kweza could not confirm whether all staff members at the station had been tested for the virus before the Tsakani Police Station was reopened.
The main building of the station was reopened on Thursday.
