UPDATE: Bogus doctor to remain in police custody

The 35-year-old will spent the night at the Springs Police Station.

The bogus doctor, charged with contravening the Health Act, handed herself over at the Springs Magistrates Court yesterday.

This comes after a warrant of arrest was issued on Wednesday after she failed to appear in court.

She was accompanied by her lawyer and two friends.

The 35-year-old spent the night at the Springs Police Station.

In today’s appearance, she was ordered to remain in custody and will appear in court on Monday for a formal bail hearing.

The state said they would be adding another charge against the accused of not disclosing a previous conviction.
