Springs resident Kerry Wright is well known for her tireless efforts in helping and uplifting the most needy and vulnerable people of Springs.
She is perhaps best known for founding and developing Hope, Faith and Grace, an NPO which has gone above and beyond to help the most vulnerable in our society.
Which part of Springs are you from?
I’m from Strubenvale.
What did you do before committing yourself to helping others?
I used to work in restaurants and retail.
What made you decide to get involved with the community and start your own NPO?
It was a very personal journey for me. I just had the desire within me to help people in need and I felt it was time to use that for something.
I feel that I can empathise with them, and understand the pain and hardships they have gone through.

How did Hope, Faith and Grace start ?
I had the idea for a very, very long time, so I registered as an NPO in 2018. It has been an amazing journey, and I have learned so much over the years.
It hasn’t been easy all the time, but knowing I’ve made a difference in someone’s life makes it all worth it in the end.
In your opinion, which members of the community are in most need?
Most definitely the youth.
We see so much abuse and neglect, and it becomes a cycle when nothing is being done about it.
But I think by jumping in and helping at the right time in their life, we can stop the cycle and really make a difference in the community.
Drug abuse is also a big issue and addressing that is an essential part of our mission.
What do you wish to teach the youth?
We want them to learn that they are not alone in their struggle and that there are people out there who are willing to help them.
We want them to see the potential they have in themselves and to help them grow and develop mentally and spiritually.
God is there for everyone, especially in the most difficult times, and we want them to understand that.

I love reading and painting. I also have a passion for gardening which keeps me busy.
Is there something that people should know about you?
I never give up, and always find a way to pick myself up.
What are your plans going forward?
All my focus right now is on Hope, Faith and Grace.
Currently, we are working on our youth centre, and we are working very hard on getting that underway.
