High mast light makes residents feel safer

After numerous complaints about high rates of crime, a high mast light has been erected on Marsibit Road in Pollak Park Extension Five.

After numerous complaints about high rates of crime, a high mast light has been erected on Marsibit Road in Pollak Park Extension Five.
Residents said the lack of illumination from street lights encourages criminal activity in the area.

“There has been a lot of crime in this area for a long time. The streets are very dark at night and criminals hide in the long grass,” said ward councillor Thulani Simelane.
Simelane said residents are happy with the mast light and feel a bit safer.
