Warm meal to mark Freedom Day

“South Africa has a rich history. The youngsters need to learn and understand the historic dates behind these holidays,” explained Mashinini.

Duduza – The Sizwesethu Community Project NPO will be celebrating Freedom Day on April 27 at 3472 Coolbreeze Street in Duduza.
Founder Johannes Bafana Mashinini said learning about South Africa’s history is important to the youth.

“The youth needs to know where we come from as a nation.
“Yes, times have changed but our history remains important.
“Our history teaches us how we came to be, how systems, governments, ideologies and culture were developed.
“South Africa has a rich history. The youngsters need to learn and understand the historic dates behind these holidays,” explained Mashinini.
Lunch will be served on the day.
“This event will go hand in hand with our winter charity drive campaign.
“At the moment, we are trying to raise funds and asking for donations to organise winter packs which will be distributed to 150 children.
“With winter fast approaching, we want to ensure no child is left in the cold,” he said.
The NPO prides itself on empowering the community through its soup kitchen, and food and clothes donations.

“We have been able to make it this far due to the continuous support from the community.
“To our donors, we wish to extend our gratitude and hope their good deeds encourage others to do the same,” he added.
