No skip for Geduld

Residents in Geduld are encouraged to utilise the mini disposal sites for all their recyclable and garden waste

The community of Geduld will not be getting a rubbish skip.
In the article School pleads for a rubbish skip for the community in last week’s Advertiser, it was detailed how staff from Olympia Park School are concerned about the high rate of illegal dumping and requested a rubbish skip be placed in the area.
In response to their plea, CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said the City cannot place the bulk container at any open space for public use as this will not be solving any illegal dumping problems but may only encourage it.

“The City, through the waste management depot in Springs, is organising awareness campaigns regarding illegal dumping around Springs.
“It must be noted that the bulk containers are available on request (such as rental) provided that the applicant will be paying for the service.
“The residents in Geduld are encouraged to utilise the mini disposal site for all their recyclable and garden waste,” said Dlamini.
