Murder on Fourth Street

An Okapi knife, suspected to be the murder weapon, was recovered by police on the scene.

A man’s life was cut short last Friday evening when he was fatally stabbed.
The incident took place on Fourth Street.
Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora said police, who were patrolling the CBD, were notified of the murder by community members.
It is alleged the deceased and another man were fighting over money, with the deceased having accused the other man of stealing from him.

Hearing the accusations, it is alleged the man became enraged and stabbed the deceased in the neck.
He fled from the scene but was arrested soon after.
An Okapi knife, suspected to be the murder weapon, was recovered by police on the scene.
The man will appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon to face a murder charge.
