A Skoonplaas shopkeeper was tied up during a robbery at his tuck shop last Thursday.
The victim was sleeping inside the shop with the door closed, but not locked when he was awakened by a bright light shining in his face.
He was threatened by a man armed with a gun who told him not to move.
“He then saw two other suspects. They tied his hands and legs with brown masking tape and covered his face with a blanket,” explained Capt Johannes Ramphora, communications officer at Springs Police Station.

A few minutes later, he heard the robbers ransacking the shop.
One of the robbers then uncovered his face and dragged him outside.
“The victim saw a silver Avanza parked in front of the tuck shop. He saw the suspects loading groceries and a red and black Honda generator into the vehicle,” added Ramphora.
The value of the stolen groceries is estimated at R500, while the generator is valued at R12 000.
