Healthcare workers applauded following the weekend’s vaccination drive

The aim of the Vooma vaccination weekend campaign follows a call by President Cyril Ramaphosa to all sectors to support the country's Covid-19 vaccination programme.

Ekurhuleni healthcare workers administered over 19 000 Covid-19 vaccines during the Vooma vaccination weekend campaign, which started on November 12 and ended on November 14.
Head of the City’s Health and Social Development Department Dr Gilbert Motlatla said: “While efforts are in place to help increase the vaccine uptake, none of this would be possible without the dedicated team of health professionals who have been steadfast in fighting this global pandemic. We thank all our professional nurses and healthcare personnel for making all government’s efforts a success.”
