Police arrested two men on suspicion of selling drugs to learners last Friday.
Springs SAPS crime prevention members were patrolling along Nigel Road in Selcourt when they noticed two men having a conversation with youngsters wearing school uniforms.
“They saw the men showing the learners a black plastic bag. The learners looked like they were giving the men money, and the police intercepted the transaction,” explained Capt Johannes Romphora, communications officer at Springs SAPS.

The men tried to run away but the police caught up to them.
“Officers found small parcels suspected to be nyaope. Both were arrested for possession of drugs, with a street value of value R750. They also had R200 cash on them,” added Ramphora.
The station commander Brig Thembeka Gwebushe applauded the members for squeezing the space in which criminals operate and for making the Springs precinct a safe environment.
