City spokesperson Zweli Dlamini explained that developmental workshops, masterclasses and training for the same theatre groups have taken place.
“This was as an aftercare incubation programme for the theatre groups in the region.”
Dlamini added that the youth month programme is supported by the Ekurhuleni Public Employment Programme (EPEP), an initiative of the National Treasury and Presidential Employment Stimulus.
“Currently, more than 115 youth and adults are employed in the arts and creative sectors through the EPEP in the region,” he explained.
All performances take place in the afternoon and the entrance is free.
