Former Springs Advertiser manager dies
Bailie served as the group financial manager of the Springs Advertiser for 15 years until he retired in 2003.
Glen Bailie lost his fight with Covid-related pneumonia on May 29 at the age of 85.
Bailie served as the group financial manager of the Springs Advertiser for 15 years until he retired in 2003.
“Subsequently, he assisted Martin Dannheisser for about three or four years to settle the affairs of the company,” explained his son Russell Bailie.
Glen was born on March 29, 1937, in Primrose, Germiston.

He married his wife Jean on November 12, 1960, and had three children and one granddaughter.
The accountant and financial manager enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, playing computer games and fixing things in his spare time.
He also played rugby in his youth.
“He was a loyal, faithful, loving and reliable father, husband and grandfather.
“In his work he was very reliable, faithful and had lots of integrity,” said Russell.
