“In two just two weeks, both these groups were able to put together events that produced loads of fun. And my message to the youth was simple, which is that the world is your oyster so take it with both hands and don’t let go’,” said ward councillor Charmaine Kock.

She said the youth should not allow anyone, anything or any circumstance to get in the way of achieving their full potential.
Kock said she was inspired by their creativity and hopes that they will be shining examples to other youth groups.
“I encouraged the youth to create WhatsApp groups so that work opportunities and other important information can be shared. The groups are also a platform for me to communicate with them about matters relevant to the youth,” she added.
Kock is working on establishing youth groups in Strubenvale, Springs CBD and Slovo.
