Croknitters help the less fortunate

Pensioners aim to make a difference.

Springs Croknitters visited the Call Her Blessed shelter to donate crocheted blankets for all the women at the shelter.
The shelter is for abused women, destitute pregnant woman and their children.
“We formed the group in April 2021 and so far, we have made over 500 blankets,” said Croknitters founder Heather Bendeman.
Bendeman said their purpose is to help the less fortunate people of Springs and all over South Africa.

“We believe as pensioners, we also need a purpose in our lives. Some of the ladies had never crocheted before, so we then taught them.
“I am very happy with the ladies and the work we do. We are like a family that has donated to a lot of organisations. There are many laughs and lots of work. Donating to a shelter has brought us a lot of happiness and seeing joyful faces at the shelter brought hope,” she said.
