A fun-filled day at Rus ’n Bietjie fête
It was a fun-filled day for the senior citizens at Rus ‘n Bietjie Old Age Home, who got the opportunity to spend time with their families and friends.
Despite the gloomy weather on Saturday, the fête at Rus ‘n Bietjie Old Age Home, which hosted senior citizens and their families as well as the community, enjoyed a great turnout.
Rus ‘n Bietjie’s office manager Zlena Wassenaar said the fundraising event came out as they had planned.
“I’m so grateful to everyone who supported our event because without them we wouldn’t have had such a successful day,” said Zlena.
Guests were spoiled by a variety of stalls that consisted of mouth-watering homemade sauces, ice cream, fashion items, pancakes, and a variety of plants.
Lesego Boikutso said he enjoys being at the Rus ‘n Bietjie and is looking forward to the next event.
“I love being here, it’s a good day to spend with family. The old age home never disappoints. We had a good time and children were able to spend time with their elderly parents,” said Dr Liesl Nickols, chairperson of Rus ‘n Bietjie Old Age Home.
Proceeds from the fête will go towards maintenance at the home.
