Rea Hamba ends year on hiking trial

Rea Hamba Hiking Club is still looking for new members who are interested in joining their club.

Rea Hamba Hiking Club ended their hiking year at the Hennops Hiking Trial on November 5.

The year-end hike got the hikers dressed up in their chosen rainbow colour theme, after which they refreshed themselves by swimming, followed by a braai.

Collien Madimba, one of the founding members, said it was one of the best year-ends at the hiking trail.

“We had fun at the hiking trail. Everyone was honoured with the club’s 2022 silver medals,” said Madimba.

The club saw one of its hikers, Gogo Masbekeng (63), participating in a 10km or more trial.

“We look forward to having more different age groups participating in the hikes, which will inspire lots of people,” said Madimba.

The hiking club, which undertook its first hike in January with more than 25 members, is still accepting new members from the East Rand.

For more information contact Madimba at 067 196 4864 or Rati Mokena at 061 490 9342.
