Children from Laerskool Môrester have a Christmas party

The festive season started on a good foot for the learners of Laerskool Môrester.

Learners from Laerskool Môrester received an early festive surprise when San van Wyk spoiled them with a Christmas party on Tuesday.

San works with the Jesus Outreach Feeding Scheme and has been working with schools for 18 years.

“I started with less than 20 children and now I am at almost 60 children per school for these Christmas parties. The Lord has blessed me,” said San.

She organised some meals, treats and gifts for the children whose ages range between seven and 15 years.

San’s assistant, Olga Magugula, said she celebrated nine years of working with San on the day.

“It honestly starts with loving people and children. Even my family knows how much I love people. So this was a calling for me. Once you realise your purpose and where God has put you, there’s no going back,” said Olga.

Christmas ornaments decorated the staff room and carols were playing in the background. The children were singing along as they enjoyed their hot dogs and juice.

“Next, I am going to Protea School. I am a very busy woman,” exclaimed San.
