After a long break since early December, January 29 saw the start of Pollak Park Golf Club’s first Gingers Golf Day of the year.
“We have returned determined to have a positive expectation for a wonderful year,” said club member Bruce Gardner.
The 45-odd Gingers Day players enjoyed their morning at the club where they were treated like royalty by the staff.
“All the staff at Pollak Park Golf Club must be congratulated not only for a fine course but for great service levels throughout,” Gardner said.
He added that the greens were first-class after a good watering and that they got great results following a top-notch approach shot.
Winners for the day:
Peter Woods took first place with 42 points.
Gardner took second place with 40 points on a count out.
Gary de Klerk took third place with 40 points.
Longest Drive: Charl Stoop.
Closest to the Pin: Kenny Robberts.
Doubles: Gardner and Raymond Marran.
King of the Shorts: Michelle Scott.
“The results reflect a really good day’s golf. We wish to thank Michelle Scott for her patience and understanding in running our monthly Gingers Day,” said Gardner.
Michelle and Harvey Scott introduced a winning mug for the monthly winner in addition to the customary inscription on the Gingers trophy. Peter Woods was the January winner.
