Executive Mayor visits Springs
The meeting of officials highlighted the various problems in Ward 72 and Springs.
Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Sivuyile Ngodwana recently visited Springs. The visit, which included a strategy meeting for officials at the Springs Civic Centre, ended by visiting Ward 72.
Ward 72 Clr Dean Stone said the meeting yielded positive results as they discussed many issues and brainstormed solutions.
“Streetlights were at the top of our agenda as they are a real security concern in my ward and Springs at large,” said Stone.
He added they also discussed other issues, such as illegal dumping.
“We will work around the matter of illegal dumping with the placing of sign boards prohibiting the act and issuing fines should the perpetrators be found,” he said.
Stone remarked how the mayor commented that many of the issues around Springs were like the rest of Ekurhuleni.
“We plead for residents to be patient as we put plans in place,” said Stone.
