Laerskool Selection Park set for provincials in chess championship
All three teams have qualified for the provincial championships.
Three teams from Laerskool Selection Park took part in the D5 Chess Championships recently.
They were placed second in their respective divisions out of 14 schools at the event that was held at Nigel Secondary School.
“We are extremely proud of every player that played in the tournament. Each player played five games on the day,” said team coaches Kayla Brits, Carmalita Combrinck and Suzan Joubert.
They will participate in the Gauteng Championships in Randburg on August 18.
