Bowling lawn heats up for Spring Fever Trips

In a game of triplets each player has one less bowl than they would use for singles or pairs play

The Springs Town Bowling Club is hosting another Spring Fever Trips.

The tournament started on Wednesday, attracting players from all over the province, and will go on for the next five weeks.

Teams of three were randomly selected to face each other on the green.

Jacki Roode, Tony Tancrel and Tinus are ready to take their team to the top.

Triples are commonly played in the three bowl format (where each player has three bowls, totaling nine for a team)

The players took extra precautions to protect themselves against the scorching sun.

Once all is said and done there will be 18 bowls on the green (9 from each team)

The competing teams are allowed to be mixed, in genders.
