Michaela shoots for the stars
The passionate netball player has achieved a lot this year.
Michaela Thethe, a resident of Selection Park and a passionate netball player, scores points on and off the court.
The 12-year-old, a learner at St Dominic’s Catholic School for Girls in Boksburg, was selected as the only player for District 13 for private schools for the Gauteng Netball team this year.
Michaela, endearingly called Kayla, played for the U12 and U13 divisions for the South African Schools Netball Tournament.
Her U12 team won the netball league, and the U12 and U13 teams were the overall winners in the Saheti Netball Tournament.
Kayla’s mother, Nomonde, is proud of her only daughter.
“We are humbled by her as she continues to follow in her grandfather’s footsteps for sporting achievements.”
Kayla is a whiz kid on the court, an avid piano player, an excelling academic and an aspiring entrepreneur.
She enjoys spending time with her loved ones, especially her mother, by playing sports and going on social outings.
“Our go-to bonding experience is playing paddle as a family.”
When she is not living to the fullest, you can catch Kayla studying hard towards her dream of being a business owner.
“She is so in love with life, and her light keeps shining,” beamed Nomonde.
Kayla recently attended her school’s prize-giving ceremony and was awarded for her sporting and academic achievements.
