Springs Rugby Club holds trials

New dawn for Springs Rugby Club.

The Springs Rugby Club had their first taste of competitive rugby this year on February 17.

The club hosted their first trials under the watchful eyes of their new coaches, Johan Zondach (head coach), Pierre Foord (forward coach) and Jan Hamman (backs coach).

About 50 players arrived for the trials. Some familiar faces and new talent were all part of the practice.

The trials served as a platform for players to show their class and what they could bring to the table.

After the trials, the players are all waiting with bated breath to see who will be selected for the first match against Middelburg Rugby Club on February 24.

“Springs Rugby Club is ready for the new season and will work hard to stay on top during 2024. There is a shared sense of optimism and determination as the club embarks on this new chapter,” said club chairperson Paul Charlton.
