Highlanders FC brings home the win

The team is now preparing to dominate their next tournament in June.

Highlanders FC, a Springs soccer team and first-time entrants made history by being the first team outside Kwa-Thema to win the Nomndayi Easter Tournament.

The team beat its rival Afro XI 4-0 to take the trophy and the R50 000 cash prize.

Coach Bless Mnqua says they are overjoyed to win the competition.

“We are delighted as Highlanders to be champions.”

The team scooped multiple awards, such as the keeper, defender and midfielder of the tournament as well as the top goal scorer.

“We are now starting our preparations for the next tournament, the Beast Cup in Kingsway in June.”
