Springs CPF members trained as medical responders

CPF members completed a level three training course to equip them with the skills to better serve the community.

A group of CPF members from different sectors completed a level three training course in March to equip them with the skills to better serve the community.

The intensive training is deemed to be the highest in first aid.

The training was provided to CPF members from Casseldale, Strubenvale, Selection Park, and Springs by Kobie Snyman, director of BJS Risk Assessment and Training, and a member of the CPF.

Snyman said he aimed to motivate the members more often because of the medical jargon that came with the course.

“ I encouraged them to always believe in themselves and believe that they are able to save lives.”

“We need them outside because our emergency services are quite busy, and more often than not, they are not available,” said Snyman.

As first responders, Snyman said it was very important for the members to attain such skills.
