Gospel concert aids Vita Nova Centre

“With hearts united in purpose, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need,” said Barkhuizen.

The Simplified and Friends gospel band hosted a gospel concert that brimmed with love, hope, and community upliftment on Saturday at the Vita Nova Centre.

The event aimed to rally support for the centre facing financial challenges.

Event organiser Willem Barkhuizen said the concert also served as a beacon of solidarity, uniting local churches and attendees in a shared mission of compassion and support.

“Through the universal language of music, the event endeavoured to uplift spirits and make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need,” said Barkhuizen.

Vita Nova Centre, a cornerstone of the community, provides vital services to persons with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and the physically and mentally challenged.

However, like many organisations, it faces financial constraints, threatening its ability to continue its essential work.

The concert represented a rallying cry for support, inviting the community to join the effort to alleviate the centre’s financial burden.

Attendees enjoyed the afternoon with soul-stirring performances from the band.
