Centre serves warm soup and spiritual comfort to the community

The Lighthouse Community Centre (LHCC) social care team hosted a soup kitchen on July 27, in Selcourt, serving warm soup and bread and offering prayers to those in need.

The Lighthouse Community Centre (LHCC) social care team organised a soup kitchen in Selcourt, beginning at the taxi rank and continuing in front of Selcourt Towers on July 27.

The soup kitchen was led by Thembi Siwisa, head of the social care ministry, showcasing LHCC’s dedication to community support and spiritual outreach.

They aimed to support the vulnerable by providing a warm cup of soup and bread prepared by the LHCC team and offering prayers to those in need.

This initiative aligns with LHCC’s theme for the year, ‘A year of great impact’.

Ofentse Rakhudu from LHCC remarked, “A cup of soup may seem modest, but it provided us with a chance to connect with those in need and to share the gospel of Christ as the ultimate provider.”

“We are committed to making a positive difference in the Selcourt community and surrounding areas through such outreach efforts.”
