Hospice Candles Celebration: change of venue and date

Hospice East Rand’s annual Candles Celebration will no longer take place at St Dunstan’s College on November 16, but be part of the Homestead Helpers for Benoni carols by candlelight event on December 8.

South Africa is a country of great pride and due to the Springboks facing England at Twickenham on November 16, a decision was made to rather merge this year’s event,” said Jonquil Siepman, the organisation’s marketing and media liaison.

“Slower than expected ticket sales were a clear indication that our event would not have enjoyed sufficient support.

“However, we are thrilled to announce we will be partnering with Homestead Helpers for Benoni’s Carols by Candlelight and Christmas Market at

Homestead Dam on December 8.

“Residents can use this opportunity to light a candle for those living with a life-threatening disease, while we remember those who fought bravely,” said Jonquil.

The market takes place from 10:00 to 17:00 and then it’s the harmonious carols by candlelight until 20:00.

Bring chairs and picnic baskets.
