E-hailing car hijacked in Springs recovered in Benoni

An e-hailing Toyota Quest sedan hijacked in Springs was recovered in Benoni on Wednesday morning.

The vehicle was recovered after the EMPD Eastern Region Task Team received a tip-off about a vehicle hijacked the previous evening.

The e-hailing driver was allegedly hijacked when dropping off passengers. The hijackers also robbed him of his cellphone.

The vehicle was recovered at the corner of Vootrekker and Cranbourne streets. The officers arrested the suspects, who will appear in court soon.
