The Esda Nursing Education Institution celebrated International Nurses Day today by hosting a ceremony to remind staff of the profession’s core values.

The staff, including registered and student nurses, lit candles and pledged to respect human life and practice their profession with conscience and dignity.

International Nurses Day is observed annually on May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth, who is regarded as the forerunner of modern nursing.

The day’s events were designed to encourage discussion and action.
