Slovo Park residents discover woman’s lifeless body
A passerby made a chilling discovery near Blesbokspruit River. Now, the Slovo Park and Payneville communities are seeking answers.
A woman’s body was discovered yesterday near the Blesbokspruit River, close to the Slovo Park area. A cyclist passing by on Welgedacht Road made the discovery.
A community leader, who requested anonymity, received the alert. “I got a call about a dead woman. I was the fourth person to arrive, and she was lying face down,” he said.
He then alerted more community members, who were left in shock by the condition in which she was found.
Upon turning the body, they saw she had visible bruises on her face. After sharing the news and a photo on Payneville’s community chat, the woman’s sister confirmed her identity.
“She was, it seems, a local businesswoman who sold food at a local taxi rank,” he said.
One of the residents broke the news on Facebook in a post that sent shockwaves throughout the community.
One of the comments read: “Someone’s mother, someone’s daughter, someone’s wife never got home to her family. May she rest in peace.”
