Armed hijackers assault Reedville woman

The Springs SAPS are investigating a hijacking in which a 55-year-old woman was attacked in her yard.

A 55-year-old woman was hijacked at her home in Reedville on Sunday.

According to Springs SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Charity Zwane, the victim had just arrived home and parked her Mercedes-Benz sedan inside her yard when four men approached her vehicle.

“She then heard a gunshot coming from the passenger side window. One man pointed a firearm at her from the driver’s side and ordered her to get out of the car,” Zwane said.

She added that two men pulled her out of the car, causing her to fall to the ground.

“Subsequently, two men entered the woman’s vehicle and drove off, while the remaining two got into a white vehicle parked outside the yard and fled,” she explained. The Springs Police Station opened a docket.
