Greater Springs Soup Kitchen plans to make Christmas memorable for all

Greater Springs Soup Kitchen will host its first-ever Christmas service on December 20 across four sites in Springs, serving special meals and gifts to those in need.

The Greater Springs Soup Kitchen is preparing to host its first Christmas service to give back to the community and is calling on residents for donations to make the event on December 20 a success.

The event will take place at their four regular soup kitchen spots: the Meat Mecca parking lot; Geduld, opposite Rebel; Strubenvale, opposite Spar; and Selection Park, opposite the Park Hotel.

The organisation runs weekly soup kitchens at these locations to support those in need. For the Christmas service, they plan to serve a special meal and hand out gifts to spread festive cheer.

“We would be grateful for any donations to help spread Christmas joy. Items such as cookies, sweets, cool drinks, toys, or school supplies would be welcome,” said founder Franci Swanepoel.

Swanepoel added that the goal is to make the festive season memorable for everyone, regardless of their financial circumstances.
