Springs Mall marks 9 years with community celebration

Springs Mall celebrated nine years with a special cake-cutting ceremony.

Springs Mall commemorated its ninth anniversary on March 28, marking the occasion with a celebration that reflected both its growth and its strong ties to the community.

The celebration was marked by a three-tier vanilla cake that was shared with patrons at the mall. The cake was baked by Kwa-Thema baker Ayanda Caka and his team.

The mall’s co-owner, Carmela D’Arrigo, spoke about what it means for them to celebrate nine years.

“It feels great and very satisfying because, as a family, we have put a lot into the Springs community, so for us to see that everything is successful after nine years, it shows us that we are doing something right.”

She said one of the milestones they have achieved over the past year is the mall being 100% fully leased with new stores recently opening, including Ayana, Pedros, Choice Clothing and others.

“It’s important for us to enrich the community by creating employment opportunities. That’s why we source locally even when looking for someone to make our cake. It’s important to keep it local,” Carmela said.

She expressed her gratitude to the Springs community for their support.

“Thank you for the support throughout the years. Let’s keep working together,” she added.

Carmela’s mother, Kathleen D’Arrigo, had the honour of cutting the cake.
