Laerskool Werda parents’ generous gift brings hope to learners

A Laerskool Werda parent has been praised for her generosity after donating a new school uniform and school bag to a learner in need.

Despite the recent cold weather, hearts were warmed at Laerskool Werda by an act of kindness that reminded everyone of the power of community.

The school described in a statement how a parent, Palesa Motsoetsoane, used her generosity to bring hope to a learner in need.

Motsoetsoane donated a brand new school uniform and a new school bag to the learner.

“The gesture reflected a sentiment recently shared by Gauteng MEC for Finance and Economic Development, Lebogang Maile, who said it takes a village to raise a child. At Laerskool Werda, we saw that quote come to life,” the school said.

“She saw a child in need, and she acted,” the school said.

Laerskool Werda publicly expressed its appreciation to Motsoetsoane.

“We would like to thank Mrs Motsoetsoane for her incredible generosity,” it stated.

The school also encouraged residents of Springs to follow her example by looking out for those in need.
