Springs SAPS and Sector 4 patrollers marked Mandela Day by renovating the home of a wheelchair-bound pensioner in Madiba Park, improving her living conditions.
To commemorate Mandela Day and make a lasting impact, the Springs SAPS, together with Sector 4 patrollers, conducted an outreach in Madiba Park on July 15.
They identified the home of a wheelchair-bound pensioner and carried out renovations to improve the living conditions.
The house was painted, and existing vinyl flooring was replaced. Local police spokesperson Sergeant Charity Zwane explained the objective of the initiative.
“The aim of the initiative is to give back to the community, while promoting the values of dignity, compassion and Ubuntu.
“Through this project, Springs SAPS demonstrated their commitment to building stronger relationships with the community and improving the lives of vulnerable residents,” Zwane said.
