‘Tis the season for the Springs Senior Citizens Club as members gathered on Friday for their annual Christmas in July celebration, enjoying a morning of music, dancing, good food and friendship.

Barbara Liston (85) summed up the day with a smile, saying, “The food is to die for.”

She has been a member of the club for more than 10 years and says every year she looks forward to celebrating with friends.

“Being here enjoying everyone’s company is what I love the most,” Barbara said warmly.

Linda Chapman (76) shared similar sentiments, saying the club has blessed her with lifelong friends.

Members as old as 99 attended the celebration, enjoying the camaraderie and festive atmosphere.

Among them was 91-year-old Pat Taylor, who took to the dance floor with Sharron Dinnie.

“It’s truly a pleasure to be able to share a dance with Pat. We’re delighted to have her with us and to see her enjoying herself,” Sharron said.

Reflecting on the club’s progress over the years, manager Pauline Houghton said she was pleased to see membership continuing to grow.

“This year we have 150 attendees, and it’s incredible to witness the growth,” she said.

She added that the club has over 170 members.

“This kind of event gives us something to look forward to because people don’t want to come out during winter, but this morning they got ready to come here, and they are happy. That’s all that matters,” she said.
