Power supply to cut due to maintenance work, says the city

Planned maintenance by the City of Ekurhuleni is expected to take place and to affect various areas.

The City of Ekurhuleni announced that the power supply will be switched off on October 2 from 06:00 until 16:00. According to the city, this is due to maintenance work.

The following streets/areas/factories will be affected:

  • Iron Road, Gold Street, Murdoch Str
  • Far East Hospital
  • Dal Fouche, New States, Krugersrus
  • Fulcrum, Reedville, Wright Park, Pollak Park
  • Springs Ext, Civic Centre, Morgan Beef, Market
  • New Era Industrial, Maksal, Kelloggs
  • MPact, PFG
  • Pam Brink and Rietfontein water reservoirs
  • Isover, Grundle
  • Huhtamaki
  • Liebherr

The city stated that work will be undertaken to restore power to the affected area.

“No guarantee can, however, be given that this deadline will be met. Work will, however, continue until the maintenance work has been completed.

“All electrical networks and equipment shall be regarded as being electrically alive at all times while the maintenance is performed,” said the city.
