NOTICE OF PUBLIC PARTICIPATION FOR BASIC ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT PROCESS FOR A PROSPECTING RIGHT APPLICATION Notice is hereby given in terms of Regulation 41 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations 2017, made under Section 24(5) of the National Environment Management Act (Act No. 107 of 1998) and published in Government Notice No. R.326 of 2017 read together with section 16(4) of the Mineral and Petroleum Resource Development Act (Act no: 28 of 2002) as amended of intent to carry out the following activity: Proposed Prospecting activity will involve prospecting for Aluminium ore, Nickel ore, Zinc ore, Uranium ore, Gold ore, Gemstones except Diamonds, Platinum Group Metal, Coal, Diamond, Iron ore, Lead and Copper ore on portions 2,4,6 and 11 of the farm Dwaalhoek 647 IR within the jurisdiction of Dipaleseng Local Municipality, Gert Sibande District in Mpumalanga Province.

Location of the proposed mining area: The affected farm is situated 47 km south of Balfour town along the R51 road connecting to unnamed route to the proposed site. The proposed development activities fall within the categories of R983 Activity 20 and therefore requires Basic Assessment Process. Please be informed that the Consultative Basic Assessment Report and the Environmental management programme is available for comments for 30 days from date of publication of this notice (03 July 2026
